About the proyect

The team at the ECOTROPICO Foundation successfully implemented an agroecological transition model consisting of five hectares of agroforestry systems in the municipality of Colombia, in the northern part of the Huila department.

Your support will help replicate this model by converting monocultures and restoring more degraded peasant lands with agroforestry systems that help connect the cloud forests of this territory, located between 1,200 and 1,800 meters above sea level.

Beneficiaries

The network of women, youth, and their families, supported by the technical assistance of the ECOTROPICO Foundation team and the partnership with NAVICAR, an organic product marketer, has been key to ensuring the success of this agroecological transition pilot project with agroforestry systems.

The objective is to build peace and well-being in a post-conflict territory, where residents face limitations regarding formal land tenure, limited access to technical and financial rural assistance, differential markets, and involvement in decision-making.
